Haley Quinn (she/her) is the Acting Deputy Director for the healthcare team of AFT's Health Issues Department. She has been working in the labor movement for more than a decade, the last six years of which have focused on health policy and healthcare workforce issues at AFT. Most recently, she has led the union's work on safe staffing, drafting legislation introduced on the state level, collaborating with top researchers in the field, and providing specific guidance to union leaders supported by the latest workforce data. Supporting the historic organizing of AFT's Code Red campaign, she has collaborated with other experts to create unique resources connecting bedside issues to federal policy fights, including restricting the reach of private equity in health care and protecting Medicaid funding.  A fifth-generation unionist, her career has been dedicated to empowering workers with the tools and information they need to confidently assert their expertise and win. Haley lives with her wife and two cats in the Washington, D.C. area.
